Her cries echo through shadowy halls,
black mascara dripping down her porcelain skin
she is fed mixtures of self-loathing and neglect
swaddled in her mother's ignorance and sin.
Forced to exist with blinking shallow eyes
her shell of a body hollow of all respect,
as birth drained all hope that laid within
she was tossed away like a useless object.
This is a poem I read on allpoetry.com by the user annother.
